Dinner in the Cacciatore Restaurant Ventotene will be one
of the most vivid memories saved from your enchanting visit
to this island. The high position of the Cacciatore makes
us the perfect choice for a restaurant with a view in Ventotene.
As the sun slowly sets behind you and its golden glow settles
on the historic abandoned island of Santo Stefano, there is
nothing better to be doing than to enjoy a chilled glass of
the local Falanghina and a plate of home made sea bass stuffed
ravioli served in a light sauce of fresh clams.
The classical and more contemporary cuisine offered by the
Chef, Signora Anna, is based on a wide selection of exquisite
local ingredients complemented by home made pasta and desserts.
The local delicacies available range from rich buffalo mozzarella
freshly brought to the island from the coastal town of Formia
to the abundant fresh fish caught locally. As for vegetables,
we grow them ourselves.
More
flamboyant dishes such as home-made gnocchi in a sauce of
clams or walnuts and wild rocket pesto are complimented by
a series of more classical recipes such as Spaghetti alle
Vongole (Spaghetti with Little-Neck Clams) and Spaghetti allo
Scoglio (Spaghetti with Mixed Crustaceans).
A wide variety of grilled fish and imported quality meats
are available for main courses that are freshly grilled to
order and complemented by salads and vegetables grown on the
island and prepared to perfection. To finish, there is nothing
better than the desserts made in-house that vary again from
the more local and traditional Caprese cake to our own particular
take on the classic Italian Millefoglie.
If
you’d like to sample the exquisite cuisine of the Cacciatore
Restaurant from the centre of the big city, take a trip to
our sister restaurant in Rome, il Cacio e Pepe, offering many similar dishes and
special ingredients.
Groups and weddings on Ventotene can be catered for and accommodation
includes half board and full board options. For those who
enjoy dining the Cacciatore can act as the perfect culinary
weekend break in Italy.
